Okay, now I know that i never get the chance to update my journal lately, much less respond to everyone's comments, messages, notes, etc on here, but I need to vent about this one. There's another website that I have an account with for modeling and photography and it's very similar to Myspace, but it's strictly only for models, photographers, MUAs, and wardrobe stylists. You can post your work on there, search local talent, post comments on people's profiles and pictures, and more. You can also write up your entire profile description and within that I had wrote this:
"Please Note: If you're going to send me a friend request, send me a comment or a message first. It's rude otherwise, in my opinion. If you don't have time to do that, then I don't have the time to accept your friend request. So please, if you like my work, tell me why or what you like about it. I'm not a collector card."
...because I was getting friend request after friend request by random people all over the place, and it was starting to piss me off in feeling like I'm a trading card of sorts and having people go "OHHH, look! I've got this friend, and this friend, and this friend..." but in the words of a good collegue of mine: YOU PROBABLY DON'T EVEN KNOW ANY OF THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU'RE JUST SITTING ON YOUR @$$ COLLECTING THEM ON THE COMPUTER ALL THE TIME!
It's starting to sicken me about these people. It's right at the top of my profile, and it's VERY obvious. I've put it in bold, and had a separation line for it to stand out as much as I possibly can. I've had several friend requests with no comments, tags, messages, or otherwise. It's really starting to piss me off because It's rude. It's just plain rude.
So now I'm considering putting something else on my profile there within the brackets of that note. It'll be called "People who can't read" and I'll have it right on the front of my page. would I be worried that they'll see it and get mad? No, because they didn't even read my profile in the first place, why would they read it later? Secondly, it was their idea to "collect" me in the first place. If they want to be taken off the list, all they'd have to do is message me, or tag me, or note me. ANYTHING.
I'm just worried that I'm going to come off as too much of a jerk if I do this. Ideas? Suggestions? Opinions?
Pleasant Somethings, everybody.
